Top Tips for Family Trips

Planning a family holiday can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. At The Manor and Ashbury Resorts we do everything we can to make that process a little easier. Leaving you more time to enjoy you stay. Keep reading to find out our top tips for planning a holiday with the family.

Take a Virtual Tour

It’s sometimes a little hard to explain just how extensive our resorts are. We have so many different activities and facilities available to you. Why not take a virtual tour of our resorts so you can see yourself. Most families tend to gravitate towards staying at the Manor Resort, with its larger choice of family facilities. However, guests are welcome to use the facilities at both, so why not take a look at the Ashbury too.

Special Requests

If you have any dietary requirements/allergies or require accessible accommodation, please fill out the relevant forms as soon as you can. This will allow our team to accommodate your needs effectively – including a follow-up call if required.

What To Pack

If you’re trying to plan a family trip with a baby or toddler in tow, it probably feels like you need to pack just about everything you own! Fear not, you don’t need to take EVERYTHING on a family trip to the Manor & Ashbury. We provide cots and highchairs for small people (you’ll just need to bring your cot bedding). We also supply bath towels in all rooms, equipment for all activities and even swimming towels, for a small charge. Leaving you more room for those ‘just in case’ outfits!

HANDY INFO
If you do forget any essentials – like leaving your toothbrush in the bathroom, we have toiletry vending machines available at both resorts.

Take Out Travel Insurance

One of the most important tips for planning a trip – Remember to take out travel insurance. Yes, even for family breaks in the UK. We hope that nothing comes up at the last moment, but if you are unable to travel for any reason, it’s one less thing to worry about.

Family Vacation Planner

Our resorts activity programmes will go online a week or so before your stay. This will give you insight into the activities and facilities available during your visit. Use our website and brochures to learn more about each activity and highlight your favourites. Once you arrive at the resorts our team will show you where to book.

Our new activity app will be launching later this year, allowing you the chance to book activities before you arrive.

Travel Time

Be sure to bring something to keep the kids occupied – snacks, books, their favourite teddy, or a tablet (if you choose to use them). Mumsnet suggest ‘Keep toys to a minimum if possible, and seek out a few compact things that provide lots of entertainment rather than just letting your kids choose what they take.’

To make the most out of your holiday at The Manor & Ashbury we advise arriving earlier in the day. Check-in is at 3pm, but you’re welcome to arrive earlier and start using the facilities. Same on departure day – check out at 10am but stick around to take part in activities.

We hope our planning a trip tips will help make things easier on your next stay at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts. The main thing to remember is to have fun and enjoy making life-long memories with your family. If you have any questions our team are ready and waiting to help.
