FootGolf has been around since 2008, however, many people haven’t heard of it or don’t know how to play. If that sounds like you, don’t worry. We’re here to explain everything you need to know to enjoy a round of Foot Golf here at The Ashbury Golf Resort.

So, What Is FootGolf?

As the name suggests, FootGolf (sometimes known as kick golf or footy golf) combines elements of football and golf, but it’s not exactly like either sport. The objective is to kick a football into a series of holes in as few kicks as possible, like golf’s structure and scoring system. Here’s a breakdown of the game:

Course Layout
Like golf, FootGolf is played on a course with fairways, tees, hazards, bunkers, and 9 or 18 holes.

Equipment
All you need is a regular football, which we will provide and a pair of astros/trainers (not football boots).

Gameplay
• You can play in groups of up to 6. The holes are larger than golf holes, and the fairways are usually shorter.
• Players must play from an approved ‘teeing zone’.
• The ‘green zone’ is within a 3-metre distance of the hole.
• To begin everyone kicks from the tee, one at a time. Play then continues in order of who is furthest away from the hole.
• The person with the best score kicks first on the next hole.
• Scoring is the same as golf, every kick counts, no placing/moving the ball.
• Maximum score is 10 for each hole.
